The Tampa Bay Rays have announced some new concession items for home games this season and two of the choices stand out as the Rays go all-in on macaroni and cheese.
The first is the “Everglades’ Roadhouse Mac Dog” described as a “half pound all-beef grilled frank topped with creamy mac n’ cheese, red jalapenos and crispy onion straws.”
Oh My God.
The second is nearly as intriguing but also leaves some unanswered questions. It is simply called the “Mac Bat.” It is described as “mac and cheese in a breaded cone.”
Are we talking a breaded waffle cone filled with mac and cheese? I keep trying to picture this in my head and each time it ends with a defibrillator.
As of now, there are no pictures of either item. However, according to the Rays there should be some photos available in the next couple of days.
The rest of the new food items:
- Assorted Flatbreads–Chicken pesto, margherita, Thai chicken with spicy peanut sauce
- House Smoked Chicken Wings–Tossed in a mango chipotle glaze
- Ybor City Chicken–Chicken drummettes stewed in a piquant tomato sauce with chorizo, golden raisins and Spanish olives over yellow rice
- Miso Roasted Shiitake Steamed Buns–Pickled red cabbage, grilled scallions, fresh cilantro and Sticky Soy Glaze
