Evan LongoriaUnlike the statistical projection systems, Las Vegas is much less bullish on the Tampa Bay Rays this season. According to the online sportsbook Bovada, the Rays have an over/under win total betting line of 78.5 wins.

The 78.5 win total ranks 12th in the American League and last in the AL East. The Red Sox are the betting favorite in the East with an over/under total of 85.5 wins, followed by the Blue Jays and Orioles (82.5 each) and the New York Yankees (81.5).

Reading the TampaBayTimes link above I see that Joe M is still quite the politician and says a lot of nice things about his former team. He is right in that one of the biggest things the Rays will need for success in '15 is some solid bats out of the OF (Desmond Jennings, Kevin Kiermaier, Steven Souza, Brandon Guyer and DeJesus if he stays a Ray)... Good observation. Maddon also like Rivera behind the plate, but just about anything the Rays could do there would be an improvement over the C spot in 2014....

Article also said that Myers tweeted that the Pads are the big winners in the trade involving himself and Shields. They should show that to Odorizzi or Montgomery if the Rays ever play the Pads in Interleague play or to Wade Davis if KC ever plays the Pads; the more I read about Myers, the less I like him; never understood why he refused a haircut to raise $ for cancer last season, seems like a prima-donna to me except that he has not done anything productive since his ROY season with the rays....
