It’s time to get excited!

The Rays announced their final cuts (including Curt Casali and CJ Riefenhauser) and informed players who will make the team, including second catcher Bobby Wilson and relievers Kirby Yates and Steve Geltz.

So, barring any trades or injuries, this will be the Opening Day roster when it is officially announced on Sunday. In addition, the Rays have also announced the Opening Day lineup with John Jaso leading off.

Maybe I'm crazy but I kinda liked the idea of K2 leading-off.

Also, a bit scary when you see a sum total of 1 lefty on the entire pitching staff.

    Can...not... wait!

Our DL pitchers would be starters for at least half the teams in baseball. I'm looking at the season as a "cup half full" right now. Go Rays, good luck guys.

How does the team have just 1 lefty in the entire pitching rotation? Seems odd to cut Riefenhauser instead of Geltz.
