By my count, there are 15 players who played in at least one game for the Rays in 2013 who are no longer with the organization. Below are 14 of the players in their new uniforms. The only one missing is Freddy Guzman, who has not signed with a new team yet.

Shelley Duncan, Arizona Diamondbacks
Alex Torres, San Diego Padres
Chris Gimenez, Oakland A's
Kelly Johnson, New York Yankees
Delmon Young, Baltimore Orioles
Kyle Farnsworth, New York Mets
Fernando Rodney, Seattle Mariners
Luke Scott, SK Wyverns (Korea)
Jamey Wright, Los Angeles Dodgers
Roberto Hernandez, Philadelphia Phillies
Jason Bourgeois, Cincinnati Reds
Sam Fuld, Oakland A's
Jose Lobaton, Washington Nationals
Ryan Roberts, Chicago Cubs

  1. The Sam Fuld and Jose Lobaton ones hurt the most to this fan. I wish we still had them.

  2. Dave L says:

To me seeing them is a reminder that we got better talent wise.

The only player with any upside is Torres. The other relief pitchers have all passed their peak years. Kelly J is ok but overpriced for us, we can replace his skills with younger and cheaper talent.

I really still can't fathom his being the opening day starter at 3rd for the Yanks. I will believe it when I see it.

  3. Geoff Peterson says:

Shelley Duncan looks like a doofus in every uniform. Many of those guys may not be on a major league roster for most of the season. They are more injury insurance or borderline 25th guys.

  4. Chis Wise says:

Some serious web-surfing (dumpster diving?) here, Cork. Thanks.
