Playing A Little Pepper

We know Matt Moore, Alex Cobb, and Jeremy Hellickson will pitch against the Orioles. But how will the rotation shake-out after that and when will we see Chris Archer pitch again?

We got the first answer today, now that it sounds like David Price will be good to go on Friday. He will be followed in the Yankees series by James Shields and Matt Moore. The next big question will come Monday against the Red Sox. My gut says Chris Archer will start on Monday. Maddon then would have two options after Archer. He could push Alex Cobb to Tuesday and Jeremy Hellickson to Wesdnesday, giving each of those young arms an extra day of rest. The other (more likely?) option is to let Hellboy go Tuesday, skipping Cobb. That would allow Price and Shields to throw in the 3rd and 4th games of the Red Sox series on normal rest. And then Maddon can come back with Cobb on Friday in the first game of the Jays series on extended rest…LOOK FOR ARCHER TO PITCH ON MONDAY

  1. don says:

Price should have pitched in this (balimore) series... its do or Die with them, not with the Yankees whos record is going to be good enough,Beat the Cookies the ONLY way for playoffs..
Kepp. at 2 hole ( no Pena) should have been ALL season, Maddon slow learner..but maybe not too late..see how the cookie(s) out for that showalter guy...
