Playing A Little Pepper

In his weekly MMQB column, Peter King took at a jab at Rays attendance when he wrote: “How must the Rays feel? Hottest team in baseball…Breathing down the Yankees’ necks. They come home on Monday night and draw 9,913. Is Tampa-St. Pete trying to lose an excellent franchise?” What the hell? Now we have football columnists crapping on the attendance? What’s his beef?

It is not unusual for King to go off-topic in his MMQB column. However, there may be more to the PK-Rays relationship. More than once he has written about Joe Maddon and mentioned time that the two have spent together. And in 2008 he showed up to the Super Bowl in a Rays cap. So I am beginning to think that King fancies himself a Rays fan, or at least a Maddon fan. An if that’s the case, he might just be a frustrated fan. But if he was a true fan, he would know how sensitive the rest of the fanbase is to these attendance comments from the national media…FRUSTRATED FAN?

Price needs to throw something other than a cutter on 1-2 counts. Maybe a four seamer above the strike zone because they are sitting on the cutter low in the zone. He needs to raise their eye level a little I think (or as Brian said throw a changeup once in a while).

Bucs Fans think Rays attendance is terrible....
