Playing A Little Pepper

After such an exhausting series against the Angels, how important is this series against the Royals?

This series has the classic make-up of a letdown series. After playing so well in their 4-game sweep of the Angels, the Rays would seemingly have a bit of a breather at home against KC. But there is also the risk of not only feeling too good about themselves, but also of looking ahead. After the Royals, the Rays will play 22 of 26 games against playoff teams or teams that the Rays are directly competing against for a playoff spot, including the A’s (3 games), Yankees (6), Rangers (6), Orioles (3), and Red Sox (4). It will be time to sink or swim. But in the meantime, the Rays want to make sure they don’t start that stretch with 2 or 3 losses to the Royals…CAN’T AFFORD A LET DOWN NOW

  1. Joe says:

It's gonna be hard to tell if we lose, if it was a let down or if we like playing on the road.

Heard it here, with Scott back tomorrow, Evan Longoria will play 3B tomorrow.

    • Dave L says:

But if we win it will definitely be attributed to the brimming, raucous typical Monday night arch-rival Royals are in town crowd!

      Willing the Rays to Victory!

Just kidding. It is what it is and I have no problem with it.

I am in no hurry to see a gimpy Longo manning third anytime soon, actually.
