Joe is back with his post-game thoughts….

Raise your hand if you thought the Rays would hit the road and win consecutive series in Balitmore, Los Angeles and Oakland.

If you just spilled beer on your head, you’re a liar.

The timely hitting remains suspect and subpar. There’s still little, if any, reason to believe the Rays can win a World Series. But there’s enough of what the Rays do well for them to be lasting contender.

Today’s 4-1 win in Oakland featured more brilliance from the Rays non-pitching MVP Jeff Keppinger, with Karlos Pena earning his money for a change, Ryan Roberts busting out of his long slump, and the longest underhand toss in decades from Fernando Rodney.

Joe continues to scratch his head seeing Desmond Jennings jog out double play balls but put it in overdrive for outfield singles. Joe thought Joe Maddon didn’t allow that?

Regardless, the Rays deserve a huge pat on the back. Another series win against Baltimore this weekend and there’ll be a lot more believers on the bandwagon.

  1. KT says:

Peña could be on one of his patented hot streaks. If so, this could get really, and I mean reallllly interesting.

  2. Beazy says:

We're still undefeated this month (2-0), big ups to AC, the D, and ole' Los, which seems to be coming back around. We'll see yenz Fri. against the O-for's...

  3. Rob says:

Have to admit I didn't see it coming.

  4. Rob says:

Just read that Abreu was designated for assignment by the Dodgers to make room for Victorino. If he doesn't accept it, he would be available and the Angels are paying most of his $9m salary. Wonder if the Rays will make a run at him so we can have another player finish his career in St. Pete. At least he would be better than Matsui.

    • Andy says:

'Better than Matsui' isn't saying much! But, he probably can do better than Matsui, Pena & Scott! Wait, that's not saying much, either!! Oh well, still a good idea, especially if the Angels pick up his tab!! Sounds like the kind of deal the front office likes 🙂

  5. Joe says:

No I didn't see it coming, I figured the Angels pitchers were just too good and we never beat Oakland. Huge props especially to all 12 of those pitchers.

Next Not Evan Worry: Do we go back home and fall on our faces with yet another big series waiting?

We certainly have the match up that should win with Hunter vs Moore but I bet the Angels and A's thought the same thing against us.
