Playing A Little Pepper

With Evan Longoria out, Elliot Johnson is at third base tonight and batting 7th. Is this really the best option?

Well, until Longoria returns or is put on the DL, it is probably the Rays only option. Joe Maddon could have put Sean Rodriguez at third base, but then Johnson has to play shortstop. So it is just a matter of who is better defensively at shortstop, and that is Rodriguez…YEP

    Cork - I seem to remember Big Willy filling in well, at the dish, for Longo back in 2008. Do you happen to know Willy's stats during Longo's DL stint? We should be able to replace Longo's glove (he has been un-longo thus far in 2011) but the guy absolutely raked in April.
