OK, earlier this week some in the national media started to wonder aloud if Evan Longoria was dating Playmate Jaime Edmondson. Of course, if you follow Longo on Twitter, it was fairly obvious if not explicitly said.

Well, Longoria and Edmondson were spotted together again this evening at the Lightning game. And in case that screengrab below is not convincing enough, please note that Edmondson said on Twitter tonight that she was at the game

Don't you think the obsession with Longoria's social life is a tad unseemly?

And what exactly does it mean to be a "Playmate?" Is that a job title? Does it pay a salary? Does being featured as "Playmate of the month" once allow you to call yourself a "Playmate" forever? Sort of how ex-presidents are still called "Mr. President" even after they are out of office?

A couple of things: 1) In a weird way, doesn't this mean the Rays have reached a certain level of relevance on the national scale, and isn't that a good thing?; 2) If this was just a random girlfriend of the week, it wouldn't be worth mentioning. But she is a celebrity (in some respects) also; 3) this wasn't a picture of them in her backyard playing with the dogs. They were together at an event in which Longoria took part in the pre-game festivities (whatever those were), and they were on TV; 4) Rays fans are also obsessed with his hair. Last week I posted a picture of Longoria at a Bolts game in which we noted his head was shaved. Is that better or worse than being curious about him dating a celebrity?

  2. Don says:

Well, he is doing better..last week he was at the game alone... Look any publicity is better than nothing... Is men's social life more or less important than Kim Kar. who is ex- nothing
at least Longoria has had success in a profession...Does that make him newsworthy?...well yea.....

  3. Thomsawyer says:

New Flash!! Longoria wears many wrist accessories! Seriously, he has a sundial on his left and approximately 10 bracelets on his left. Forget the bat sleeve-weight, put alot of stuff on your wrists and improve your swing!
