The GBT – The Good, The Bad and The Telling sandwich, where The Bad is nice and lean and the The Telling is ripe.

THE GOOD: Historic. Evan Longoria is just the second player in big league history to hit a walk-off home run to clinch a playoff spot in the final game of the regular season. You might have heard of the other one. Some guy named Bobby Thompson and the “Shot Heard Round The World”

THE BAD: We’re still giving you a pass David Price.

THE TELLING: Tickets for games 3 and 4 will go on sale today at 1pm.

  1. Sarah says:

Question: At what point does the pleasure I'm getting from the misery of Boston fans become unseemly?

  2. Gus says:

Longoria's homer shares another similarity with Bobby Thomson's: they are both yanked down the LF line taking advantage of an OF fences that comes in at a pretty hard angle. All kinds of cool.

Also, I still think the RF Foul Pole should be forever known as the Pumpkin Pole, even if upon further review Johnson's HR came inside the pole and didn't hit it. Pumpkin stickers or something better be on that pole for Game 3.

  3. Greg says:

So after serving up DJ's homer in the 9th, was allowing Cory Wade to get away the best personnel move we made all year?

  4. Rob says:

I have been saying all year that the Rays always seem to be on the wrong end of a good baseball story - boy, did they ever turn that around on Wed night!

    Go Rays!
