A couple of weeks ago we wrote about the importance of scoring runs, even when the pitching staff is really good. During that time period, the Rays were in the process of going from 1-8 to 20-15 and a game out of first place in the AL East.

How does a team do that so quickly? By doing a complete reversal of their run differential.

Here is a game-by-game look at the difference between how many runs the Rays have scored this season and how many they have given up.

After nine games, the Rays were a horrendous -24 in run differential. In the 26 games since then, they are +52. That is one heck of a turnaround.
