The Rays Confidence Graph is a look at how much confidence Rays fans have in the Tampa Bay Rays. The graph is designed to give us a look at how our emotional bias as Rays fans fluctuates through time. The “confidence” in the team is an inexact measure of how fans feel about the team’s current strength as well as how much confidence fans have in Joe Maddon and the franchise for the next 3-4 years…

Notes on the graph…

  • Confidence in the 2010 Rays went from 9.2 to 9.0. The most common response was “9” at 46.4%.
  • Confidence in the future went from 8.4 to 8.0. The most common response was “8” at 32.3%.
  • Confidence in Joe Maddon went from 8.2 to 8.1. The most common response was “9” at 27.0%.

Cork, when did you start using these Confidence Graphs? And how often do you use them a month?

    • Cork Gaines says:

I don't have the data with me, but I am pretty sure I have been running them since the 2007 season although the Maddon poll just started this year. I usually run them every other week, but sometimes something big comes up and they get pushed back a week.

No comment on the Biz of Baseball's look at the Rays numbers where they agree with Stu that the bottom line is not good and the Rays need help? You're ok posting the numbers up front and calling the Rays liars but have nothing to say when an independent expert shows why those numbers don't paint a rosy picture?
