Until the game starts, let’s consider this…
Let’s assume Grant Balfour starts the bottom of the 6th inning and Charlie Manuel pinch-hits one of his lefty bats. Do you want Balfour to stay in knowing Jimmy Rollins (switch-hitter with fairly even splits) and Jayson Werth (righty) follow…OR do you immediately bring in David Price to face the lefty, knowing that the two big lefties (Chase Utley and Ryan Howard) will follow Werth?

We are testing a new feature here at RI…We are still not sure if we even want to do this, so bear with us as we play around with the format…Basically it is somewhere between a Live Blog-A-Baloo, a Running Diary and an Open Game Thread. Rather than offering a detailed account of the game, we are more likely to just provide occasional random thoughts. Unlike the Live-Blog-A-Baloo, your comments will be unfiltered. If we like this format, we will try to have one of these up for every game. Let’s give it a shot…
