Matt MooreMatt Moore has been traded to the San Francisco Giants, according to Joel Sherman.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Rays will receive infielder Matt Duffy from the Giants. Marc Topkin is reporting that somebody named “Fox” is involved. Meanwhile, Jeff Passan says the Rays will also receive “Santos.”

Now Passan clarifies and says it is Michael Santos, a right-handed pitcher with an incredible 44-to-5 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 58.2 innings in single-A.

Lucius! Buster Olney finally confirms that Lucius Fox is the third player. Whew. But wait. Don’t get excited. Not THAT Lucius Fox. This one is not going to be played by Morgan Freeman. Rather, it is an 18-year-old shortstop in single-A.

I like the return for Moore. Duffy is a gamer, reminds me of forsythe, so doesn't hurt to have two of them in the lineup. Fox was a top international prospect last year that supposedly is very fast, potential lead off bat in a few years. Doesn't hurt to have lots of shortstops, especially since half never seem to pan out. Now Andriese can return to the rotation.

LOL. Don't be fooled folks. Matt is actually Silverman trying to win support for yet another series of trades that prove he is the laughing stock of MLB. I never though I'd see a more lopsided trade than Dandy Andy's dump of Price two years ago but this takes the cake.

        Fun fact:
        Matt Duffy career WAR: 6.2
        Matt Moore Career WAR: 6.4
That's with Moore in the majors over twice as long as Duffy.
Gotta see how Adames develops to judge the price trade. But, since he's still at top 25 guy, it's looking pretty good.

I wonder if they will try Duffy at Short and move Miller to OF or 1b.

Move Forsythe to 1st, and let the stronger arm play SS. Either or, I haven't given up on Beckham yet, he's batting 400 over the last month, I think he just needs a steady roll, like maybe LF?

Yes sir, having a bunch of SS is the Rays way. Let's count: Miller, Beckham, Robertson, Adames, Franklin, Duffy, Rondon and now Lucius Fox.

Like the deal, but when are we going to finally get a good catcher?

You mean like Susac? He was traded for a far less talented LH reliever W. Smith along with 2015 1st round draft choice Bickford. Even the lowly Brewers know how to broker a deal.

Jonathan Lucroy, a local guy, makes less then Matt Moore, bats 300, and we keep worrying about IF & pitching propects! wtf
How many more years of cheap "framing" catchers that hit 100-something in our 9th hole?

Had a no trade clause. Has a team option for $5.25mil next season, then the contract is up. You think we can resign him? He was a rental for 1.5 seasons. Do you think the Rays have a realistic shot at fielding a strong playoff team this season or next season?
