[UPDATE] Souza admitted after the game that he was indeed benched for not hustling.

[EARLIER] It is not often that you see a manager call out a player for not hustling and even less often on a play in which the player picked up a triple. But that appears to be the case with Steven Souza Jr. on Tuesday night against the Angels.

Souza was pulled from the game in the fourth inning after hitting a triple in the bottom of the third. According to Todd Kalas, there was no injury involved. So it appears that Souza was pulled because of the triple.

With two outs in the bottom of the third inning, Souza hit a lazy fly ball to right-center. The outfielders for the Angels failed to communicate and then lolligagged the dropped ball into a triple for Souza.

However, the replay showed that Souza probably cost himself an inside-the-park home run by doing some of his own lollygagging down the first base line.

Do you mean Cash or Souza? Cash is the one that needs the most help learning how to do his job.

Yes he dogged it somewhat initially, but payed attention to the play. As soon as he saw the missed play, he took off. If indeed that is why he was removed from the game; it was a little extreme.
