Jake McGee

More bad news for the Rays as they announced today that Jake McGee will need arthroscopic surgery on his knee as he was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Here is the statement from the Rays:

“Following an MRI this morning and examination by Dr. Koco Eaton in St. Petersburg, Rays left-handed relief pitcher Jake McGee was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee. He is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery tomorrow and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks. McGee was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Aug. 19.”

Enny Romero was called up to take his spot on the roster.

Boxy……….Boxy, wake up. You must have been having a heck of a dream. Yeah, you were smiling and talking in your sleep. What? Something about being an All-Star. Ha, ha…..yeah, I know. Silly dreams. Hey, get up dude. The manager wants to see you in his office about something.

The Rays are always talking about keeping one eye on winning now and one eye on the future and that helps them drive decisions. I think it's time to put both eyes on the future as this season looks done.

The Jepsen trade never made sense to me as if anything the bullpen seemed to need additions, not subtractions. Now it appears to have been the fatal move for 2015.
