Ben ZobristThe Ben Zobrist trade market is heating up. According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, the Giants, Nationals, Angels, and Cubs are all “seriously” pursuing the utility man.

Cafardo adds that the Rays are asking for a top prospect and a “mid-level” prospect.

One thing that makes Zobrist so valuable despite being 33 is his contract situation. Zobrist has just one year remaining on his deal at a very reasonable $7.5 million. And as Ken Rosenthal points out, any team that trades for Zobrist could be in line to receive a compensation draft pick in the 2016 draft when Zobrist leaves for free agency next winter.

Cork, please don't link any more TBO garbage. That piece seemingly was written by some cranky, baseball-hating Tampan who was short on facts and long on opinions. I don't mind differing opinions but they at least need to have basic facts straight if you're going to hype them on a legitimate site like this.
