Outfielder Johnny Field, the Rays’ 5th round pick in the 2013 draft, was named the Rays’ Minor League Player of the Year. He split the season between Bowling Green and Charlotte and hit .300 with a .376 OBP, 12 home runs and 23 stolen bases. Blake Snell, a first round pick in 2011, was named Minor League Pitcher of the Year. Snell also split his season between Bowling Green and Charlotte, striking out 119 and walking 56 in 115.2 innings with a 3.19 ERA. Meanwhile, Mikie Mahtook was named Durham Bulls MVP…The Rays have 9 games left (these 3 at home followed by 6 on the road) and need to go 7-2 to reach .500 or better for the 7th straight season.
