Playing A Little Pepper

Tampa Bay Baseball Market took a closer look at some of the television and attendance numbers we posted earlier this week. In particular, it looks at how well the Rays compare to the Orioles…Today is the first trip to Wrigley field for the Rays since 2003 when Sammy Sosa infamously was ejected when his bat broke and cork fell out. Today is also the 26th anniversary of the first night game in Wrigley Field history…Down on the Farm [boxscores] Enny Romero struck out 6 and allowed just 1 hit in 6 shutout innings during the Bulls’ double-header split. The offense managed just 2 runs and 8 hits in the 2 games. Former first-round pick Justin O’Connor went 2-4 and is now 3-8 with a home run in 2 games since being promoted to double-A.

  1. Chris D says:

Not mentioned in the "Down on the Farm" comment was that Nick Franklin absolutely destroyed a ball that he pulled to right field. His first HR since joining the Bulls. By far the furthest hit ball to right I've seen at the park.

anybody know why loney isn't playing

    • Cork Gaines says:

Haven't heard Maddon comment, but assumption is that he is just getting a day off because of the Lefty on the mound and Maddon likes to give guys back-to-back days off, especially older guys

  3. J 2.0 says:

Well McGee in the 8th means Balfour in the 9th. Everyone hold onto your seats. I don't understand this at all, but lets hope for the best.
