Playing A Little Pepper

The Rays will have a moment of silence tonight for Tony Gwynn who passed away today…With the lefty on the mound, Yunel Escobar will bat second for the second time this season and in one of the top 5 spots for just the fourth time this season…David Price is on pace for 280 strikeouts this season, which would be the most since Randy Johnson in 2004. Price’s 12.1 strikeout-to-walk ratio would break the record set by Brett Saberhagen in 1994 (11.0).

  1. Rob says:

Talk about a shift - the right side of the infield is going to be really crowded, but with the speed of Jennings and Keirmaier they might be okay in the outfield:

    Zobrist 2B
    Forsythe 2B
    Loney 1B
    Rodriguez 1B
