Playing A Little Pepper

Tonight’s game is on Fox Sports 1. Monday’s game in Seattle will not be broadcast locally…The Rays have now lost 4 in a row and 6 in a row at home. They are in last place in the East, 5.5 games behind the Orioles…The Rays took a big slide in this week’s power rankingsYunel Escobar who was pulled early from Friday’s game and replaced by Logan Forsythe is day-to-day with a thumb contusion…Last night’s game took 4 hours, 10 minutes, the fifth game this season in which the Rays played at least 4 hours.

    Weird, didn't know Forsythe left Friday's game early.

    I can only assume Sean Rodriguez is hurt. Why was Forsythe the first one off the bench tonite and any nite recently? He should be like a low leverage reliever. Let him do something when it doesnt count before you ask him to do it when its does count.

    Why does Logan have 72 PA and Rodriguez only 55? Sure SRod can't hit RHP but Forsythe is even worse in every category. His BABIP is crazy low .226, lowest on the team besides Molina but its in great part because neither has the ability to drive the ball with any authority more than once a week. At least SRod can drive the freaking ball. The only category of batting he outperforms Sean is he strikes out less. But he doesnt walk more so who gives a damn?

    If the Rays think Forsythe is a near high average hitter waiting to happen they need to send him to AAA to prove it and try to win some games with Rays players that have won games this year and in the past.

    If not he simply doesnt need to bat as much.
