After last night’s game, Brad Boxberger was sent back to Durham and lefty CJ Riefenhauser was called up. Boxberger pitched 2 huge innings last night and may have been the biggest factor in the Rays’ comeback. The demotion was probably more about him pitching 3 innings in 3 days and needing a couple of days off. With 2 more games against the Yankees, a team that makes opposing pitchers throw a lot of pitches, Joe Maddon probably wanted the extra depth. Riefenhauser, who is from a suburb just north of New York City, will make his big league debut against the Yankees if used tonight or tomorrow. After Boxberger was demoted, Maddon called him “a Major League pitcher, period,” adding that he has confidence in Boxberger to use him against “anyone, anytime.” If Riefenhauser sounds familiar on this site, that’s because we pointed out in spring training how his last name barely fit on the jersey (above). His 12-letter last name ties Jason Isringhausen for the longest in club history…No Desmond Jennings in the lineup tonight who is battling a sore groin.

They need to cut Lueke and keep Boxberger up here

Very lively crowd tonight, lots of young adults in the Porch area. Appears to be replacing the Party Deck as the "in" place to be.
