The Rays went homerless in their first three games of the season, their longest such streak to start the season.

But with the Rays looking for insurance runs in the eighth inning and Evan Longoria at the plate with two runners on, Brian Anderson made the bold prediction.

“This could be, this could be the spot, Dewayne,” said Anderson. “This could be the spot for the first home run of the year.”

The home run was also the 163rd of Longo’s career, tying him with Carlos Pena for the most in franchise history.

  1. Rob says:

    Yeah, that was pretty cool.

  2. Joe Dunn says:

Dewayne, this could be another great season with over 90 wins and struggling attendance. . . .

Yep, Brian, you may be accurate on that one also.

    • Mr. Smith 1980 says:

Yes. Let's talk about the poor attendance every day of the season. It's a productive conversation.

  3. Geoff Peterson says:

BA the Buffoon and about 75% of Rays fans predicted it as they do several times each game. BA is a classic example of the infinite monkey theorem that states a thousand monkeys hitting keys on a typewriter for an infinite period of time will eventually type the works of Shakespeare.
