The GBT - The Good, The Bad and The Telling sandwich, where The Bad is nice and lean and the The Telling is ripe. Red Sox 7, RAYS 4 (boxscore) THE GOOD: Erik Bedard. I hesitate to put Bedard here because he really wasn’t that good, but he was better […]

Playing A Little Pepper… If we assume the catcher platoon to be a single player, the most common lineup last year was used just 5 times. Tonight’s lineup will be the sixth time it has been used this year in just 27 games…Erik Bedard will start for the Rays tonight. […]

The GBT - The Good, The Bad and The Telling sandwich, where The Bad is nice and lean and the The Telling is ripe. White Sox 7, RAYS 3 (boxscore) THE GOOD: Flash Jennings. It seems like we have seen Desmond Jennings’ speed on display a little bit more recently. […]

Playing A Little Pepper… As of right now, it is not raining in Chicago, but there is rain coming. The good news is as of now, radar makes it look like there might be a slight delay to the start of the game  and then there is about a one-hour […]

The GBT - The Good, The Bad and The Telling sandwich, where The Bad is nice and lean and the The Telling is ripe. White Sox 9, RAYS 2 (boxscore) THE GOOD: David Price Early. It looked like it was going to be one of those typical 7+ innings, 0 […]

Playing A Little Pepper… Joe Maddon once again going with his recent go-to lineup, only with Matt Joyce in left field and David DeJesus at DH…With a game-time temperature of 36-degrees, last night in Chicago was the second coldest game in Rays history. The only colder game was a mid-April […]

Joe Maddon Ejected For First Time This Season

With baseball’s expended replay system ejections are down this season. But that didn’t stop baseball’s premier ejectee from finding a way tonight in Chicago. On a check-swing that was ruled not a swing, Maddon wouldn’t let it go from the dugout. He was eventually ejected. Here’s the full video. Likes(0)Dislikes(0)

Playing A Little Pepper… Let’s just pretend last night’s game never happened. Among the things Joe Maddon is good at is being able to treat a game like last night, or being no-hit, just like a 6-2 loss that the Rays were never really in. I can’t recall if it […]

BJ Upton is now experimenting with prescription glasses and he says he can see the ball more clearly. Hopefully this will help his strikeout rate. Unfortunately he is still striking out looking and still blaming the umpires. Likes(0)Dislikes(0)

Playing A Little Pepper… Tonight’s lineup (see below) is becoming the go-to lineup for Joe Maddon with the only change being Matt Joyce and David DeJesus alternating DH and left field…Rays starting pitchers have pitched 5 innings or less in 8 of last 10 games, the worst streak for the […]
