Joe MaddonJoe Maddon was a guest on ESPN Radio’s Mike&Mike show this morning and he had some interesting things to say about a few players. You can listen to the entire interview at this link

On Wil Myers: “He’s a different cat, in all the good ways. He’s very loose. He’s a lot of fun. We have a great time with him…Honestly, I often compare him to [Wil Ferrell's character in "Talladega Nights"] Ricky Bobby, because that’s who he is. I see it in there every time. He wakes up in the morning and he pees excellence. That’s who he is.”

On Desmond Jennings: “This guy is very strong…He’s going to hit homers. He’s going to hit 20-plus homers at some point without even trying because he has this real easy swing and the ball comes off hot. [but he needs to work on his] plate discipline, meaning that here’s a guy that can really be the catalyst of a lineup. He needs to get on base about 35% of the time and if he does, the havoc he is going to create is going to be tremendous for everybody else…[He's] a very good center fielder. We’re working on some things with him out there. I think if he really wants to become an elite player, which he does, I think the next level is better plate discipline on a consistent basis.”

On Logan Forsythe: “He does nothing but hit the ball hard. He just hits the ball hard. It’s incredible the hard contact with this guy. ”

Can we please have t-shirts made up saying “We Pee Excellence?” Much better than 9=8.

      I can see it now.
“We pee excellence” above a picture of a mid-flush commode with the NY and Bos logos swirling down the drain.

hmmm… on second thought that might seem like they pee NY and Bos logos which could be wrongly interpreted as the aforementioned excellence… maybe your simple idea was better.
