Matt JoyceThe GBT – The Good, The Bad and The Telling sandwich, where The Bad is nice and lean and the The Telling is ripe.

RAYS 5, Blue Jays 4 (boxscore)

THE GOOD: Ben Zobrist. Zorilla struck out twice, but that’s OK. It was just good to see him in the lineup after missing time with a sore back and a sore neck. Those type of injuries aren’t serious but can linger. That he was back in the lineup so quickly suggests that won’t be the case here…Nate Karns. About 3 arms would have to detach from bodies before Karns would make the opening day roster, but that hasn’t stopped the Rays from saying he is a candidate. And in his start yesterday he looked good. He faced 13 batters, giving up no runs on 3 hits and a walk. He struck out 1, had 3 ground outs and 3 flyball outs…Jeremy Moore. If you haven’t seen his home run yet, we put it up yesterday. It’s a bomb, his third of the spring. Only two players have more home runs this spring. There is a red flag though. Moore has 6 strikeouts and no walks in 20 at bats.

THE BAD: None

THE TELLING: Alex Cobb, Grant Balfour, and Joel Peralta pitched in minor league games…Cal Ripken Jr will throw out the first pitch today and will be signing his book, Squeeze Play.
