We won’t have a full-Hangover this morning or a full recap of GIFs and screencaps. But there are just three weeks left and Friday night was not boring, so let’s do this instead…

Down on the farm: The Durham Bulls won the very important game three of the Governor’s Cup Finals and it was a doozy. The game went into extra innings tied 0-0. Pawtucket had runners in scoring position several times in the 9th inning and later but couldn’t push a run across. The Bulls finally took a lead in the top of the 14th, scoring twice despite only one ball leaving the infield. Game 4 is today and game 5 is tomorrow afternoon if necessary. It’s also worth noting that Tim Beckham got into arguments with Pawtucket players on a couple of occasions. Watching Durham Bulls Baseball has a roundup of the action. [WDBB]

Meanwhile, back in Minnesota, the Rays beat the Twins 3-0 and Joe Maddon posted the lineup card to the ceiling of the dugout. Seriously…

David Price

The Twins broadcast had a Twitter poll and only ten people responded. Three of them like Joe Maddon…

If there was a GBT today, The Good would be this guy, Big Tree Archer. Have I mentioned how much I love this guy? Six shutout innings with 7 strikeouts and no walks…

Chris Archer

If there was a Bad, it would be this play. Psst, Wil, hate to interrupt, but RUNNNNNNNN!!!

And finally, The Telling. It is clear that David DeJesus still has no idea how the 3-way Rock-Paper-Scissors works…

  1. Gus says:

Quitely, the starting pitching has settled in nicely. Offense is still a challenge, but playing with a lead is such a difference. I personally have never liked the Twins since Gardenhire was such a prick about a catwalk game a few years ago, and they are proof that a new ballpark doesn't mean squat when it comes to winning -- the Metrodome was a significant home field advantage. Need Moore and Price (I'm taking the last start to be renewed faith in his starts) to finish off the sweep.

I think Maddon was channelling Satchel Paige -- don't look back something might be gaining on you -- with the lineup card. Look up in the standiings. Texas is having a worse September than anybody.

  2. Sarah says:

Price, not Maddon, apparently put the scorecard on the ceiling. I don't think Maddon can reach the ceiling.
