USATSI_7406591_154511044_lowresAs if things wouldn’t be tough enough for the Rays having to play a tiebreaker game in Arlington on Monday night, now the Rangers will have an extra All-Star in their lineup with the return of Nelson Cruz, the Rangers announced today.

Cruz was hitting .269 with 27 home runs in 108 games when he was suspended by Major League Baseball for 50 games for using performance-enhancing drugs and his role in the Biogenesis scandal. His 50-game suspension ended with today’s win over the Angels that clinched a spot in the play-in game against the Rays.

Cruz’s history against David Price may have been a factor in the decision to have Cruz play on Monday. In his career, Cruz is 9-21 (.429) with three home runs against Monday’s starter for the Rays.

The Rangers were mum about whether or not they would welcome Cruz back for the postseason. That question was answered after today’s game.

This is crap. He shouldn't be allowed to come back. He hasn't earned the right to play in the postseason

This whole thing is crap. First there is the called strike 3 on Zobrist to end the game. Then there is the weak schedule the Rangers played. Then on top of that we have to go on the raod to play these guys. Frustrating.

I hate it, but he served his 50 game suspension. End of story.
It stinks for the Rays, but in all reality one has to hope he isn't tuned-up very well after the long lay-off.

    Can't wait for tomorrow!

Live pitching after 50 games, I like our chances to shut him down. Gentry has been hot over the last 10 days and it likely takes him out of the lineup.

Let's face it, odds are against the Rays heading to Cleveland. Texas is the Rays graveyard. Maybe it's about time to exorcise those ghosts and go out and win. Rays looked very shaky this weekend. Time for Price to step up and carry this team on his back. Go Rays.

Perhaps bad karma for the Rangers having a cheater on their playoff roster. Let's hope we can do this!!! Price needs to bring his A game tonight. I will be at the edge of my seat....again!

Although by that logic the Rays would've won the WS v. Philly because of Romero being allowed to play despite his cheating... karma doesn't seem to help the Rays... maybe tonight will be different.

Karma is still working, as can be seen by the dashed NYY hopes. Just expect a level playing field and then have our Men go out and make it so.
