The Rays’ final home game of the season ended in walk-off fashion with James Loney hitting a home run to lead-off the bottom of the ninth. But before Loney hit his home run, Andy Freed of Rays Radio 1250 WHNZ had a prescient comment for his partner, Dave Wills

“How about this Dave. We’ve gone 156 games. The Rays don’t have a pinch-hit home run…Yet.”

3.2 seconds later, the ball made contact with Loney’s bat and flew over the wall…

Dave and Andy had been calling events right before it happened throughout the whole series. They'd even joked earlier in yesterday's game about buying lotto tickets.

    And then that happened. Eerie.

Many, MANY years ago (mid '80s, by the house we were living in), I remember watching a Braves game on TBS. It was the top of the 9th with one out and a runner on first with the Braves ahead. Skip Caray said, "(Matlock, or whatever show was on) will be on, right after So-and-So hits into this 6-4-3 double play."

Slight pause. *sound of crack of the bat*

    "6 ... 4... 3," Caray said. "Good night everyone!"

    That, was awesome.
