With runners on second and third with one out in the eighth inning and the Rays nursing a 1-run lead, the Red Sox hit a flyball to left-center. Sam Fuld raced over and cut-off Desmond Jennings and unleashed the best throw of his career to nail the runner at home…

The Rays would hold the lead in the 9th inning. Of course, the runner might have actually been safe, but not only did Jose Molina block the plate, he also blocked the umpire (the inset image is the next frame)…

Looks like he may have been safe but the umpire was not in a position to call the tag. All he could see was the catcher’s back. It didn’t look to me in this tape that Molina actually blocked the plate. Why didn’t he have his big foot or knee blocking the plate from 3rd? Either way, it was a great throw from Fuld. Go Rays!

The Baseball Gods took from us earlier on a similar play and now have given us back. Go Rays, 8-2 road trip mighty impressive.

He was out by a mile! Best Call of Season Ump! The real question is why Nava didn’t score from SECOND base on the Double from previous hitter? What a Fool! ‪#‎86moreyeardroughtredsux‬!
