Playing A Little Pepper

Wil Myers is not in the lineup tonight. He called it a mental break and a chance to work on a flaw in his swing. Joe Maddon says it was more about getting Kelly Johnson into the lineup. Luke Scott is in the 2-hole for the second straight night. Evan Longoria is still at third base and it sounds like he will remain there until the break…One more stolen base for Ben Zobrist and he will tie Julio Logo for third on the all-time franchise list with 88. But at that point he better get comfy as it will be a while before he catches BJ Upton (232) or Carl Crawford (409).

  1. Scot says:

Given that Myers is hitting like Shelley Duncan, not a surprise. Actually the big surprise is the performance of Scott. So many of his doubles are bloops to the opposite field. I guess one can teach an old dog a new trick.
