Playing A Little Pepper

David Price and Matt Moore are the first visiting teammates with complete game wins in a series at Fenway since 1997 and the first lefty teammates since 1973…Last night’s win guaranteed the Rays will not lose this series. The Rays have no lost any of their last 9 series, going 7-0-1 in the 8 series before this one…In their last 70 games, the Rays are 46-24. That is the equivalent to 106 wins over a full season. During that span, they are scoring 4.8 runs per game, which would be 4th in the AL and the pitchers have a 3.54 ERA, which would be the best in the AL.

I don't know about the rest of the Rays-iverse, but the concept of the Rays moving into sole possession of 1st place after being in the basement 1 month ago has me as giddy as a schoolgirl!

If Helli can keep his pitches down tonight could be a good, good night.

Rainouts are the only 'bad' thing about baseball. I was so jacked for last nights game.

Every body has alot of things they want to change about baseball in general to 'speed' it up etc.

Bullsh*t, Watch and enjoy the nuances of the game if you are there, the between innings preperations of the players, the dugout and bullpen goings on etc.

If you are watching on TV DVR it and blow through the commercials. The game will speed up immensly.

But total rainouts are a horrible prospect and only baseball has them.

We go to away games every year. Sometimes a whole series sometimes just 1 or 2 games. So far we have been blessed and had some small delays in Camden and the Joe Robbie but never a total washout.

This year later we go back to magnificent Safeco field but for one game only. Luckily they have the sliding roof.

The Trop is a blessing. Every year I sit there in at least 2 games where we can hear thunder or see the roof flash with lightning. The game doesn't skip a beat.

I'm going to the Sunday game at SafeCo, can't wait! Always wanted to see a game there and it just so happens I will be there right when our Rays are.

Here's a fun Safeco Field drinking game my wife and I play from home; it should be even more fun (and expensive) in person:

Every time a train goes by Safeco during the game we take a drink...

The field is amazing, but the train traffic is insane.
