Joe is back with his postgame thoughts. …

Multi-hit game No. 14 in 33 career games for Wil Myers today in the Bronx. Joe continues to be mesmerized.

Was Myers ready before he came up in June? Or did he need the time at Durham? Those are questions that will ring through October if the Rays don’t win the AL East. … And throw in Chris Archer into that debate.

Today, Myers adjusted and pulled a three-run bomb in a clutch situation to give the Rays a 4-3 lead, and then flashed raw opposite field power in his next at bat in the fifth inning to tie the game at 5.

Anyone miss James Shields?

Yeah, the Rays lost to the stinking Yankees 6-5. How can Joe moan the way the Rays have been winning and winning and winning. And Joe gets and agrees with giving Jake McGee a second inning versus burning more of the bullpen. Plus, the Rays got a real gift with the free bunt for Matt Joyce, which led to their first run.

While 2011 should have taught everyone that every game counts, tomorrow night in Boston qualifies as huge.

The daunting 10 game road trip has one day left. I like being 7-2 so far. Hopefully Price comes out firing strikes and we return to the bay area back in first.

I don't agree with giving McGee any innings in a tie game against the Yankees. They know he's going to throw fastballs, so the odds are in their favor to squeak out a run.

You are so psychic, but you don't give a solution, just 20/20 hindsight. In The past Jake has been an important part of the pen, he has to be used; we already have Farnsworth. Last year our pen lead the League, now we shouldn't trust one of the locks from last year.
