Joe is back with is postgame thoughts…

Boy, it sure is good to see Hellboy pitching like he should. The Rays inconsistent starter (this year) has been consistent of late. Consistently good. His seven-inning, one-run, nine-strikeouts outing was good enough to give the Rays an 8-3 win.

Of course, it was good that he had a five-run cushion to start with. Joe was worried that somehow Hellboy would waste that lead. Instead, he was locked in.

The Rays offense was impressive. James Loney continues to hit, Desmond Jennings looked like Carl Crawford at this best and of course, Dirtbag was Dirtbag, bum football and all.

Wow, did the Rays hit the jackpot with James Loney? In recent weeks, he’s been one of the best hitters in baseball.

The Rays’ pitching is starting to come around at the right time. David Price is back. Hellboy looks to be back. There is offense for a chance. Even Jose Molina got a homer.

When this teams pitches like it should, and gets hitting the way they have been, the Rays can be pretty dangerous. Oh, and fun to watch as well.
