Sure, the Rays made a game of it pulling within 4-3 until Cecil Fielder blasted one of the longest homers in Fruitdome history. If it wasn’t for the roof, that ball may have hits Ferg’s. Just a moonshot to dead center field.
And that is the issue with the Tigers. They have so many ways to beat you, and tonight, it was the three of the top stars in baseball: Scherzer, Fielder and currently the best hitter in baseball, Miguel Cabrera, who the Rays simply couldn’t get out tonight.
This is the difference between the Rays, a good team, and the Tigers, one of baseball’s best.
