[UPDATE] Good news. Rays are reporting that Longoria just aggravated the plantar fasciitis condition in his foot.

[EARLIER] Evan Longoria was removed from the game after the second inning with what appeared to be another leg muscle injury.

Longoria was running out a groundout when he slowed down near first base. There was a look of either pain or discomfort on his face after he passed the bag.

Of course, this is scary news for the Rays. Longoria missed more than half of the 2012 season with a pulled hamstring muscle. And the last thing this team needs is for Longoria to miss a large chunk of the season with another hamstring injury. So let’s just hope this is just a case of him aggravating the plantar fasciitis in his foot…

    That really sucks.

Maybe not so bad after all, but it still sucks.

I love BA and Dewayne, but when Longo pulled-up lame they were completely oblivious. They just went right on talking- I was going crazy trying to figure out how they missed it… I enjoy their playful banter, but they can’t do it to the detriment of actual coverage
