How much longer will Dick Stockton be in the booth? He already makes Bucs games hard to watch. Sometimes you gotta put the cow out to pasture.

Another Ray cast off …..gets Major league pay….Good for you Edwin…but we got .220 Part time Joyce

Edwin is 1-6 with a 5.76 ERA. He has also been 46-47 since the trade. Matt Joyce has a career OPS of .805 and an OPS+ of 122. With the exception of 2009, we have also had 5 starting pitchers better than Jackson every season so despite being a solid pitcher he was replaceable. In addition Jackson will have made about 40 million through 2013 while Joyce will have made 4 million. Look, I am happy for Jackson he seemed to handle his struggles in 07 with class and dignity which makes him easy tio root for (in my book) so I am happy he got his act together and has been a solid pitcher. I still think it was an excellent trade and Joyce fits our team much better tahn Jackson.

Plus, w/o Joyce, we lose Saturday’s game – big time!! Matt is also a gr8 team player & clubhouse guy. Can’t know for certain, but it seemed like Jackson was more about himself. Anyway, that trade was so long ago, we shouldn’t even be having this discussion.

My dad sometimes likes to point out things that happened long ago….even though he doesn’t make any sort of point
