Playing A Little Pepper

The Rays are 1-7 in their last 8 games and are 4-9 overall. That is the worst start under Joe Maddon…The Rays have one hit in their last 34 at bats with runners in scoring position…Only 8 teams in the last 25 years had a lower batting average through 13 games than the Rays’ (.204). Of those teams, 7 finished with losing records and 6 went on to lose at least 90 games, including the 2003 Tigers that lost 119 games. The lone exception was the 1993 Braves that won 104 games…Evan Longoria has 141 RBI in his last 176 games played…Prior to last night, the Rays were 49-7 in games in which they forced the opposing team to throw at least 187 pitches. Last night was the 8th loss…Last night’s leadoff home run by Desmond Jennings was the 13th time in franchise history that a player hit a home run on the first pitch and the 3rd for Jennings.

"Worst Start under Maddon"...I think it the worst start in Rays HISTORY, even when they were expansion club with a bunch of minor leaguers.....Telling a Story....Maybe tonight their best chance with Moore, Past Longoria down is Sad...
