Shelley DuncanLuke Scott has been activated from the disabled list. At to make room for him on the roster, Shelley Duncan has been designated for assignment.

Duncan was 10-55 with two home runs in 20 games. The Rays will have ten days to either trade Duncan or more likely expose him to waivers. If he clears waivers, he can accept an assignment to triple-A Durham.

The Rays seem to have cornered the market on veteran guys who hit a crucial HR in their first game or two with the club, then barely hit another one (Matsui, Brooks Conrad, the OF from Oakland who ended up in Japan last season are 3 that come to mind). I had hopes for Shelley, and who knows maybe he ends up in Durham and makes it back to the big club. But you have to hit it north of .200 (unless you are Carlos Pena).

I'm setting the over/under on Luke Scott's next trip to the DL as June 3rd.

Just Remember Luke Scott was a RE-SIGNEE after he was ineffective and on DL or bench most of last year much like Pena was resigned after hittting nothing two years before....Does Friedman et al. like hitting themselves in the head with a Hammer.....seems like it...couldn't find nothing better?Strange but true

  3. Attaboy, Don, keep it up. And throw in Fausto Carmona while you're at it.

    • Don says:

He's a pitcher (screw up) their real Problem... Rays ( Friedman) can't find/Keep hitters
