Well, this is a weird one for Rays fans. With the Royals facing the Braves today, BJ Upton hit a linedrive back up the middle that smacked Wade Davis right in the heiny. Seriously.

This is the point where some will tell you that Upton is still just REALLY unlucky…

Couldn't have hurt hes only hit three balls solid since he has been with the Braves, Boy I'm Glad we didn't go after his brother, that would have never helped the hapless Rays...

I'm sure if Justin Upton was with the rays he would be having the same offensive slump as well. Something about Shelton or Maddon or someone just turns these guys into terrible hitters. It's painful and frankly I will not rest until Shelton is gone, even if it isn't all his fault he has to be the fall guy. The rays used to score runs in 08 and 09 and since then it's just been terrible! Plain terrible!

I absolutely LOVE how the FSN crew is starting to iso Shelton every time the booth starts talking about the Rays' lack of offense... LOVE it!

Last night there were no fewer than 6 occasions where they (the cameramen/producers) got a nice close-up of Shelton whilst Dwayne and Brian were describing the offensive woes of the bad-news-Rays hitters.

Congrats to WD he's off to a nice start. Nobody thought the Rays would see more benefits from this trade than the Royals in the Spring of 2013.

At least I hope nobody did. If so you aren't being realistic.

Most realistic good scenario is Royals benefit much more in 2013. In 2014 things look pretty even, then by 2015 the Rays look like they stole candy from a baby.

But even if by 2016 it looks like even-steven production wise it will cost the Rays waaaaaay less in $$.

    Hey Cork,

Can you add a thumbs-up or "like" button to people's comments? I would love the option to let someone know that I appreciate their sentiment w/o having to respond with an "exactly" or "yep.", etc.

Also, what do you think about doing an RI "comment of the week" award- with an incentive like the winner gets to guest write an article the following week??
