Fernando Rodney pitched again last night in the WBC semifinals. But before he did, he had a plantain flown in to San Francisco for good luck according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports. And during the game, said plantain was firmly shoved down Rodney’s pants…

And here is Rodney pulling the plantain out during intros…

And check out this rare sight. It is El Tejón de Miel with his lid on straight…

I thinks one of the Rays should have a box of plantains waiting for him when he gets back.

That plantain's not going to work against the P. Ricans they will make mofongo out of it.

In one game anything can happen.

What if T. Pena needs a six out save? Think Rodney is up for it?

Had a chuckle out of Zobrist's comments about hitting aga. Rodney the other night He Said "I was going to unload on a 2-0 Pitch but we were two runs down , so I just took the pitch"....in the end he strikes out looking...think he has been listening to Maddon/Sheldon a little too much....let me Help Ben... anytime you feel like swinging...go for it...walks don't help....forget Maddon

That's our Donny Doom. Write off a player as a hitter based on one AB in a meaningless tournament.

Wow. "Walks don't help." Ridiculous statement. Since you believe that does that mean we won't hear you complain when our pitchers walk batters in a game? Oh look, I made an equally ridiculous statement.

This thing needs a like button. Good comment. You flipped DD's logic alright. Only issue is, he doesn't use logic.

Think this is why Fernando Rodney(and a lot of other players) do so well here. I'm not sure about the other organizations he's been apart of, but at least here Maddon lets him have fun and be himself. Love watching fans (even some of our own) cry about what he does.

Marc, I think it's why this team thrives with the talent they have. They're allowed to have fun and enjoy themselves which leads to becoming a closer group.
