A few notes from the first day of camp…
- The only thing Joe Maddon has decided about the batting order is that Desmond Jennings will bat leadoff, something he did 107 times in 2012.
- Joe Maddon says the top four pitchers in the rotation are pretty much set, with David Price, Matt Moore, Jeremy Hellickson, and Alex Cobb. This suggests that Chris Archer has a shot to crack the rotation and push Jeff Niemann to the bullpen.
- It still has not been decided if Joel Peralta will pitch in the World Baseball Classic.
- Evan Longoria will not name his daughter Eva.

I figured Corn was a cinch for a spot, somebody loves him, remember he came up to take Davis’s job for no apparent reason, so it’s Newman vs no name for last spot.both making a lot of money to sit in bullpen, not going to pitch late innings.. so what mid inning relief?…doubtful..
