2-1-2013 10-09-40 AMLast year, the MLB Fan Cave caused quite a stir around these parts when one of their finalists was supposedly representing the Tampa Bay Rays while also calling herself a Yankees fan. But while the folks with MLB Fan Cave assured us that there was no requirement that all teams be represented, it was also clear that all the negative media attention was something they weren’t happy with.

So when the MLB Fan Cave announced their finalists for the 2013 Fan Cave, it was nice to see that they included a real Rays fan this year, Stephanie Katz from Lakeland.

This isn’t the first time we have heard from Miss Katz. She made a “Wolverine” sign last season that ended up being hung by the players in the dugout.

The next step is a fan vote to determine the who will end up in the Fan Cave this season. You can see Stephanie’s Fan Cave video and vote for her HERE. Let’s see if we can get a real Rays fan in New York.

    Thanks Cork!

@Blake_Hasenzahl was actually the photoshop master who brought my idea to life with Wolverluke. I just had the poster made and distributed to Luke! :)

Then maybe you should find a way to occasionally say something nice about the Rays. Your comments always scream "Fan since 2008"

I'm going to go out on a limb, and say he's (Don) from Bahstun or Nuw Yoork, where they love to hate on there teams more then love to like'em...

Sorry Donnie, I was at the very first game where a team wore Rays uniforms and have been hooked ever since. Greg Blosser was the "big" name in that game. Congrats on your homophobia too but I am a man.

Google either name and you'll know who they are. While you're at it, google another sports site so that you can make ill-informed, inane comments on that one instead.

If the girl last year made so much negative press how did she make it to the top 30 last year? I think you were the only one that mentioned it! Either way I hope there's a Rays Cave this year!

Actually it was mentioned in several places and was big topic on sports radio. And besides, the point wasn't whether or not that one girl was deserving or not. She may have been perfectly deserving. The point was that they pawned her off as the "Rays Rep" when she wasn't really a Rays fan. If they are going to say, "hey, here's a Rays fan" then it should be a Rays fan. It was the selection process for the 50 finalists that was being criticized. Nobody around here cared what happened after that.
