The Rays invited seven more (non-40-man roster) players to spring training including Wil Myers and Leslie Anderson. In addition, infielder Cole Figueroa, right-handed pitchers Matt Nevarez and Jim Paduch, and lefty Jim Patterson. That brings the total number of spring training invitees to 67. However, three of the players on the 40-man roster need to be removed in order to make room for Luke Scott, Kyle Farnsworth, and Kelly Johnson. So the total number of players on the spring roster will likely be 64 when camp opens in EIGHT DAYS.

By the way, you can always track this list on the CORK-BOARD which can be found over there in the right column under “ORGANIZATIONAL DEPTH CHART.

  1. Matt says:

Matt Moore, Felipe Rivero - lefties

  2. Joe D. says:

When did ever Rays get Will Inman? If it's the guy I'm thinking of that used to be in the brewers organization, he's a decent pick up...

  3. Don says:

Looks like mass confusion for what 2-3 jobs, unless some cuts that have to be payed....try to pick two out of that mess that will make the team, besides the ones we already know...

  4. Dave L says:

Roster moves still to be made:

    1) Sign a RH 1st baseman/DH Platoon in the $3M range.

    2) Trade Briggy not for anything signicant but maybe a high A guy who is younger with at least some hope of an upside.

    3) Ditto for EJ but I think Reid has more trade value and Eliot has more value to the Rays in case disaster happens early.

So that means 4 roster spots will need to be opened unless they solve themselves through injury which is always likely.

So my vote goes to Vogt, Reid, Eliot and whichever right handed releiver is least impressive in Charlotte being the odd men out.
