Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com is reporting that Kyle Farnsworth has agreed to a 1-year contract with the Rays worth between $1.25 million and $1.5 million (via Twitter). There are also incentives built into the agreement, likely based on either games played or games finished.
Yesterday it was reported that Farnsworth had narrowed his choices down to two teams.
The Rays will need to remove somebody from the 40-man roster before finalizing Farnsworth’s deal.
After a strong 2011 season (2.18 ERA, 3.16 FIP, 25 saves), Farnsville was limited to just 27.0 innings in 2012 due to an elbow injury.
