Playing A Little Pepper

David Price will not make his start on Saturday and Chris Archer will take his place. Should we be worried?

Price is being skipped for what is being called “general soreness” and is expected to make a start during the Yankees series next weekend. What is interesting is that Price isn’t just being pushed back 2 or 3 days. And I am not sure how “general” the soreness can be if Price says it is the “first shoulder soreness [he’s] ever really had in [his] life.” This is even more troubling when we consider the situations of Jeff Niemann (may be done for the season) and Alex Cobb (only 3 starts left). All of a sudden the Rays pitching situation is looking a bit worrisome…YES, BE WORRIED

Am I the only 1 who picked up on this one?

Prices shoulder is in the same shape as Hellickson's was when he missed starts. Go back and watch Prices mini presser in the locker room explaining his "soreness". It was the same as Hellickson's, these guys arent good at lying. Prices' was sore but then in the next sentence its already better and he's playing catch. Watch how Price like Helli before him have trouble looking anyone in the press conference in the eye during the whole episode.

Look at that Rangers lineup. Its loaded with right handed bats. The only two lefties they trot out against our RHP Helli are Hamilton, who certainly isnt hot and Murphy.

The first game they hammered out 10 hits against Price and AF didnt want to see that happen again.

The rays LIKE UNSEEN RHP ARCHER"S CHANCES BETTER THAN PRICE'S against this Texas lineup

This move may have saved the Cy Young for Price as an added bonus.

Think I'm wrong? Once this series is over, look for Price's shoulder to miraculouly recover in time for Baltimore who has managed only 1 run in the 3 starts Price has made against them. He will pitch the first game against The O's which will allow him to pitch against the Yanks the next series in the finale.

If he totally misses his rotation then he doesnt pitch till the end of the O's series and misses the Yanks entirely. And AF/JM ain't gonna let that happen

I've tried to explain here before that AF/JM manipulate the rotation the same way they do the lineups and bull pen.

Price will be on the mound Tuesday in Camden yards.

You heard it here first remember. DON"T WORRY ITS ALL BY DESIGN......

It's a nice conspiracy theory. But in what world would a team EVER think a guy with control problems and 2 big league starts is a better option than a guy that is one of the best in baseball? You're digging too deep.
