Playing A Little Pepper

With 7 games remaining, the Rays have 85 wins. How many of games do they need to win in this last week?

With the Angels losing today, the Rays now control their own destiny. Go 7-0 and the worst they can do is force a tie.  But that would require the Angels to also win out and for the O’s to sweep the Red Sox (then get swept by Rays). Catching the O’s is going to be hard, and nearly impossible if the Rays don’t sweep the O’s. So best hope is still catching the A’s. If they go 4-2, Rays have to go 7-0 to catch. If they go 3-3, Rays need 6 wins. Neither is going to be easy. But at this point, the Rays pretty much have to win 6 (3-1 vs White Sox and 3-0 vs O’s). Otherwise they need 1 or 2 teams to collapse big time….RAYS HAVE TO GO 6-1
