Raise your hand if you thought the Rays would hit the road and win consecutive series in Balitmore, Los Angeles and Oakland.
If you just spilled beer on your head, you’re a liar.
The timely hitting remains suspect and subpar. There’s still little, if any, reason to believe the Rays can win a World Series. But there’s enough of what the Rays do well for them to be lasting contender.
Today’s 4-1 win in Oakland featured more brilliance from the Rays non-pitching MVP Jeff Keppinger, with Karlos Pena earning his money for a change, Ryan Roberts busting out of his long slump, and the longest underhand toss in decades from Fernando Rodney.
Joe continues to scratch his head seeing Desmond Jennings jog out double play balls but put it in overdrive for outfield singles. Joe thought Joe Maddon didn’t allow that?
Regardless, the Rays deserve a huge pat on the back. Another series win against Baltimore this weekend and there’ll be a lot more believers on the bandwagon.
