During last night’s game, Evan Longoria tagged up from third base on what was a simple sac fly. But what happened next should be a little scary for Rays fans.

As he broke for home, Longo had what appeared to be either a look of pain or a strained look on his face. He was also noticeably limping as he scampered home. Here’s the video (via Sun Sports)…

This doesn’t mean that there has been a setback. We all knew Longo wasn’t going to be 100% when he returned. But he has played in ten of the past 11 days, and this was the first time we have seen an obvious strain in his running.

So don’t be surprised if Longo gets the night off tonight (although he will fight that, playing near his hometown and with his family in the stands). And it also would be surprising if Longoria is playing third base anytime soon.

I didn’t see too many people talking about this last night. I was surprised to see him go out to bat again that inning considering how he was limping.

Are you sure he was limping? It’s not in that video. Also, I’m not sure if that’s a look of pain or just his concentration face.

That was in the 4th and he stayed til the 8th, would of stayed the whole game if it wasn’t 12-3. Dude’s fine, only talk I’ve heard about him is playing 3B again soon. He seemed to be going 1st to 3rd pretty well the other day too.

HAHA. I saw this last night and immediately said something to my friends. We must have watched 5 times and one guy swore Evan wasn’t limping. What it comes down to is if you don’t want to see him limping, you won’t see him limping. Because this is not how Evan runs when he’s healthy. And it’s not even how he ran when he first came back.

He sure looked good in the pregame, looked like he was never hurt running right there.
